A Equipe Editorial da Revista ACTA Geográfica é constituída de dois Conselhos (Editorial e Científico), composto por doutores de notório saber de instituições brasileiras e de outros países, que exercem a função de avaliar e garantir a qualidade da publicação, emitindo paraceres sobre as matérias da revista. Os trabalhos submetidos são apreciados por dois avaliadores (membros do Conselho Científico), com a omissão da identificação do autor. Caso hajam pareceres divergentes, o editor encaminha o trabalho para um terceiro avaliador. Os pareceres são analisados e acatados pelo Editor e, quando necessário, discutidos no Conselho Editorial.
Os artigos são encaminhados para avaliadores especialistas na mesma área do texto submetido. Caso o Conselho Científico não possua dois membros especialistas na mesma área do manuscrito enviado para ACTA Geográfica, o Editor (juntamente com o Conselho Editorial) irá convidar dois pareceristas Ad hoc para realizarem a avaliação.
O processo de avaliação demora, em média, entre três e quatro meses para ser concluído.

The Editorial Team of the ACTA Geográfica Journal is comprised of two Boards (Editorial and Scientific), made up of PhD-equivalent doctors from institutions in Brazil and abroad, whose role is to ensure the quality of the publication by issuing evaluations on articles submitted for publication in the journal. All submitted work is evaluated by two reviewers (members of the Scientific Board), who are unaware of the authors’ identities. In the event of any divergence in evaluations, the editor forwards the material to a third reviewer. The evaluations are analyzed and their recommendations are followed by the Editor, and, when necessary, they are discussed by the Editorial Board.
The articles are always evaluated by reviewers who specialize in the same subject area as the text submitted to ACTA Geográfica. If the Scientific Board does not have two members who specialize in the corresponding subject area, the Editor (together with the Editorial Board) will invite two external reviewers to evaluate the text on an ad hoc basis.
On average, the review process takes between three and four months.
