The Federal University of Roraima - UFRR, created in 1989, was the first Institution of Higher Education in Roraima. Currently it is the biggest university in the state, located at the Amazon region, northeast Brazil which borders Venezuela and Guyana.
Composed of 642 faculty and 380 staff members, UFRR offers 44 undergraduate and 18 graduate programs (03 PhDs, 13 masters and 2 specialist degrees) to over 7.500 regular students, 7183 in the undergraduate courses and 442 in the graduate programs, all of the programs are distributed in Paricarana, Cauame and Murupu campuses.
Recently, given the intense migratory flow that has emerged in recent years due to the Venezuelan crisis, UFRR has also been working with national and international partners, through its teaching, research and extension actions, in order to minimize the impacts caused to thousands of refugees’ lives. In addition, UFRR has been committed with the qualification of ethical and competent citizens who respect ethical and cultural diversities through the Insikiran Institute of Indigenous Education which is focused on inter / multiculturality, developing education, research and community engagement as well as qualifying indigenous professors through innovator project in the country.
